Howard Eugene Higgins Obituary
Howard (Geno) Higgins

Howard (Geno) Higgins, 73, born 2/3/1941 in Williamstown, MA passed away at his home on 7/16/2014 after a lengthy illness. He was preceded in death by his parents Howard E. Higgins and Madeline H. Higgins and sister Ginger Gianoli (all of Cloverdale, CA), and his children Michael Todd Higgins and Jennifer C. Higgins (both of Salem, OR). He is survived by sisters Roberta Marquez (Buena Park, CA) and Dawn Lee Gladden (Cloverdale, CA), sons Mark Higgins (Sparks, NV) and Jason Higgins (Carson City, NV), daughter-in-law Kim Higgins (Sparks, NV) and his grandchildren Ronald, Mikey, Gunnar, Sarah, Brayden, and Kamryn, and great granddaughter Emily.

Geno was a U.S. Navy veteran serving on the U.S.S. George Clymer APA27. He was best known in Carson City as an avid bowler and around the racing community of "T-Car" Champion Motor Speedway as a driver and then an official. He was a big NASCAR fan. After retirement from years in the manufacturing industry he loved to work in his backyard tending to his roses and tending to the family dogs. In his healthy years he enjoyed camping with his family and was an active member of the Chief Truckee chapter of E Clampus Vitus #3691. In his earlier years he was a member of the Sertoma Club, Carson City Elks, Moose Lodge, and 20/30 Club. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested any donations go to the Humane Society of Northern Nevada in his name.
