Jelaire Hancock McKim passed away peacefully at home November 27, 2013 with her husband Jerry Van Noy McKim close by.
She was born to Edward Joseph Hancock Jr. and Magdaline Faulkner Hancock on January 30 1941 in Ogden, Utah. Jelaire graduated with a Bachelors degree from Utah State University.
She was a loving wife of 50 years married July 5, 1963 in the Idaho Falls Temple. Together they raised two sons and she was a proud grandmother of three grandchildren.
Jelaire spent many years as a school teacher in Utah, Arizona, and California. She retired as a case and social worker for Sierra Developmental Center in Reno after 17 years.
She was active in the LDS church and enjoyed camping and spending time with her grandchildren, family, and friends.
She is survived by her loving husband Jerry, sons Michael ( Shere' ) and Kevin ( Stacey ) McKim, and grandchildren Cierra, Coard, and Slater.
A viewing will be held at 9 a.m. with services following on Friday December 6, 2013. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 4850 Edmonton Way Reno, NV.
Interment at Mountain View Cemetery.
