Kimball "Kim" Eugene Glassco, 88, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 14, 2013 surrounded by his family. Born on April 2, 1925 to Norine and William Glassco in Redwood Falls, Minnesota. Kim's mother passed away when he was a young boy. He was raised by his father and extended family.

After graduating Redwood Falls High School in 1943, Kim entered the US Army and was Honorably Discharged in 1945. He attended Carleton College and the University of Minnesota where he met and married the love of his life, Patricia White in June 1948. While the couple lived and worked in the Minneapolis area they welcomed two of their three children into the world, Kimball (1950), Mary (1952). In 1955 they moved their young family to Whittier, California. They bought their home of 40+ years and Scott was born in 1956.

Kim worked for Davis Wire as their Director of Purchasing until retirement. In retirement, he was a part time office manager for his son's business, Horizon Safe Mfg. He was active with the YMCA and the Y's Men Club.

Following the passing of his wife in 1996, he moved to Auburn where he resided until 2004. He was an active member of SIRS and the Rock Creek Mobile Home Owners Association. In 2004 Kim moved to Reno, Nevada. As a resident of Donner Springs Mobile Home, Sky Peaks retirement community and later Bonaventure retirement community, he was well known for being a social, fun loving addition to any group.

Kim and Pat were avid travelers. They enjoyed numerous cruises. Since her passing, Kim was joined by Ted Miller and other friends on many cruises/trips to Hawaii, Europe, Mexico and the Caribbean. They also enjoyed visiting friends in Ft. Lauderdale.

Family was very important to Kim. He loved every minute he spent with his six grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Kim loved animals particularly his pet cockatiels Leo & Toni. He taught them to sing, talk and perch on his shoes. When Kim played the piano the birds would sit on his shoulders and Leo would sing. Music was a life long passion for Kim. He was an accomplished pianist and organist. If a piano was in the room, he was always asked and graciously accepted to play requests.
