Marjorie Lou Christensen Peacock was born January 28, 1926 in Grand Jct., Colorarado to Neldon ('Butch') S. Christensen and Marjorie Goodman of Moab, Utah. She graduated Valedictorian from Grand County High School, Moab, Utah in 1944. She attended the University of Texas, Austin during 1944-1945, the transferred to the University of Utah, Salt Lake City. She graduated with honors from the U. of Utah in 1949. While there she belonged to Alpha Phi Sorority and Orchesis, a national dance society. While at the U, she met and married Parry B. Peacock from Price, Utah. They were married in Las Vegas, NV., September 21, 1947 in the "Little Church of the West". Upon graduation they moved to Price, Utah where their 3 sons were born. Parry worked for his father in the Price Trading Co. and Marj taught school for six years. They later moved to Antioch, California where she taught at Belshaw Elementary School for 29 years. After Parry's death the family had decided they wanted to remain in California. She is survived by sons, Douglas Peacock of Reno, NV., Don and David Peacock both of Antioch, Ca., daughter-in-law Janis of Reno, and grandchildren Erin, Nick, Jill, and Jackie and great-grandchildren Jack and Arthur. She enjoyed singing with her church choir and the Sweet Adelines International Choruses in Walnut Creek, California and Reno, Nevada. Her life was enriched by her family and music in that order.
