Matthew Kofsky Obituary
Matthew Kofsky

Matthew Kofsky, 59, passed away March 16,2012 in Reno, NV. He was born May 17, 1952 in Long Beach, CA.

Matt is survived and mourned by his wife Sharon Bahry, their daughters Irina and Valentina Kofsky, mother Ida Kofsky, sister Joan Jacobs, brother Andrew Kofsky and many other devoted family members. Matt was predeceased by his father Arthur Kofsky and brother Lawrence Kofsky.

Matt was an active participant in student life at LA High School. After attending UCSB, he received a bachelor's degree in economics from UCLA. He was a successful computer consultant and real estate agent.

Matt supported organizations that had to do with helping children and protecting animals. Matt's and Sharon's greatest joy was adopting two little girls from a Russian orphanage, giving them a loving home, becoming a family with them, and helping the girls begin their new life in America.

Matt took pleasure in spending time with his family and getting together with friends and colleagues. We especially appreciated his dry sense of humor. He was a caring, kind, thoughtful, gentle and generous person who will be greatly missed.

Matt was an accomplished bridge player and he and Sharon enjoyed playing the game together. It is fitting that there will be a celebration of Matt's life at the Reno Bridge Center on Sunday, April 22, 2012 at 5:30 p.m. There will be a memorial service for Matt on Monday, April 9 in Los Angeles.

Donations in memory of Matthew Kofsky can be given to GRRR Village Animal Sanctuary or to the Nevada Humane Society.

With love,

Sleep well, My Prince.
