Robert (Bob) Glass was born in Reno and attended Mount Rose, Billinghurst, and Reno High School. Shortly after, he enlisted in the U. S. Marine Corps. After completing his military service, he returned to Reno and briefly attended the University of Nevada. He then moved to San Luis Obispo, California where he graduated from the California Polytechnic State University with a degree in Animal Husbandry. He worked a short time in Minnesota for Armor Meat Packing Co. While there, he met and married Jean Moll. After completing his teaching credential, he and Jean moved to Topanga, CA where he taught general science for 30 years at Van Nuys High School. Upon retirement, he and Jean moved to Sontulia, British Columba. Bob was preceded in death by his wife Jean, and his parents, Mila and Alton. E Glass, Sr. Survivors include his brother, Al Glass of Reno, his daughter, Kari Glass of Alert Bay, B.C., son, Hugh Glass, and grandson Zephyr Glass both of Moab, Utah. Bob never lost his zest for life. He was an avid hang glider, recumbent bicyclist, photographer, and also played in local music groups. He would return each year to Nevada for the Human Powered races and the Reno Balloon races. His Reno friends will remember Bob as that kid with the large mop of hair who played his bass viola at school dances and with other local music groups. Bob lost his battle to esophageal cancer on Nov. 17, 2013. A music jam session was held in his honor at his home in Alert Bay, B.C. No other services are scheduled.
