Victor Alan Romans

Victor A Romans, 78, of Winston, OR passed away on May 3, 2014 in Springfield, OR. He was born in Fremont, NE on September 27, 1935 to Gladys (Dingwal) and Lyman Newton Romans. He grew up and graduated there in 1953.

In September 1953 he enlisted in the army before his 18th birthday and returned in Sept of 1956.

After he returned from the service he worked at Roberts Drug Store, Montgomery Wards, Hammond & Stephens Printing Co. and Bird Engineering all in Fremont, NE. In September of 1979 he moved to Reno, NV where he worked at Bendix Heavy Vehicle Systems, Legend Metallurgical Metals, Harrah's Hotel & Casino retiring in Dec 1999.

He married Janet Opfer of Arlington, NE on Dec. 1, 1956 and lived in Fremont, NE untill Sept of 1979. He had one daughter, Jennette Romans.

He enjoyed fishing, guns, pleasure shooting and gardening.

He is survived by wife, Janet of 57 years, two brothers, one step-brother, three half-sisters, six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, one step-great grand-daughter, four brother-in-laws, three sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Janet's parents, his daughter Jennette McGrew in 2012, four sisters-in-laws, a step-brother, a step sister and a brother-in-law.

He requested there be no funeral. A memorial will be held in NE at a date yet undecided. Memorials may be given to the Cancer Foundation.
