ALBERT RICHARD DOMINGUEZ, 94 ROCKTON - Albert Richard Dominguez, 94, of Rockton passed away Tuesday, August 26, 2014. Born June 6, 1920, in Belvidere, the son of Jose and Josephine (Correl) Dominguez. He married Bessie Belk in 1943, she passed away in 1961. He then married Lou Naugle on January 3, 1991, in Orlando, Florida. MSgt. Dominguez underwent 22 weeks of aeronautical training at the University of Chicago in 1942. He was then involved with supervising the maintenance of aircraft where he was stationed. He served as line chief for a medium bomber squadron. This included the repair of combat damage and evaluating aircraft to determine if they were salvageable or beyond repair. He served in Europe, Northern Africa and the Middle East as well as the Pacific Theater during WWII. He was awarded three Bronze Battle stars in the Middle East theater and on the Pacific. Al was a top salesman for insurance and car dealerships. He took pride in his business ownership and never would retire. He enjoyed working with his son, Rocky, distributing mail and working with his daughter, Jane, for 38 years at Gourmet Coffee and Charles St. Laundromat. Friendship was very important to Al. He had a passion for playing golf at Macktown since 1945. He is survived by his wife, Lou Dominguez; son, Richard "Rocky" Dominguez; daughter, Jane (Father Andrew) Zbeeb; stepsons, Chris and John Naugle; stepdaughter, Mary (Dave) Naugle-Nemeth; sister, Ann Williams; brothers, Raymond and Jimmy Dominguez; grandchildren, Nicholas and Nathan Nemeth. Predeceased by his parents; previous wife, Bessie Belk; brothers, Joseph and Edward Dominguez; sister, Sophie Markle. Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 30, 2014, with an hour prior visitation beginning at 10 a.m. at Honquest Family Funeral Home with Crematory, Roscoe Chapel, 11342 Main St., Roscoe, IL 61073.
