ALVIN A. 'AL' KUEHNE, 75 ROCKFORD - Alvin A. "Al" Kuehne, 75, of Rockford passed away Friday, Nov. 23, 2012, in his home, surrounded by his loving family. Born Dec. 13, 1936, in Long Prairie, Minn., to Rudolph E. and Bernice I. (Merrell) Kuehne. Married Carol Hartman on Dec. 17, 1955, in Rockford. Al was a carpenter for 45 years, employed as a superintendent by Ericson Construction for 25 years and Scandroli Construction as a superintendent for 15 years. Member of Redeemer Lutheran Church and Redeemer Men's Club, Moose Club, Blackhawk Athletic Club, Plug and Pellet and Carpenters Local 792. Avid Minnesota Viking fan. He loved the outdoors including fishing, hunting, camping and archery. Enjoyed bowling, stained glass making and wood working. Survivors include wife, Carol; children, Jeff (Mary) Kuehne of Rockford, Holly (John) Williams of Cloverdale, Ore., Scott (Regina) Kuehne of Byron, Lisa (Dave) Goff and Mike (Susie) Kuehne, all of Rockford; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; brother, Jerry (Eunice) Kuehne of Machesney Park; sister, Kathleen (Ron, Sr.) Klaman of Rockton; and numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents; infant son, Steve; infant granddaughter, Julie; three brothers; and a sister. The family wishes to thank Heartland Hospice, especially Renae and also the Infusion Department at SwedishAmerican Hospital. Service at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, in Redeemer Lutheran Church, 827 16th St., Rockford. Burial in Scandinavian Cemetery. Visitation from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 30, in Delehanty Funeral Home Ltd., 401 River Lane, Loves Park, and from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Saturday in the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the church.
