Brenna Allen Obituary
BRENNA RAE ALLEN, 39 SHE WAS MY EVERYTHING ROCKFORD - Brenna Rae Allen, 39, found peace on November 11, 2013. She was born on May 30, 1974, in Amarillo, TX, daughter of Debra White. Brenna graduated from Rockford East in 1992. She obtained her Bachelor degree in Mortuary Science and Funeral Service from Southern Illinois University, and her Masters degree in Social Work from Aurora University. She was formerly employed as a Licensed Funeral Director at several funeral homes in the state line, and most recently employed as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the Chicago suburbs. Brenna's smile could light up a room. She was generous and caring, always reaching out to others even at the expense of herself and her own well-being. She gravitated toward professions in which she could help people, and worked hard to make a difference in the lives of the people that she served. Brenna was motivated, and rarely let anything stand in the way of her goals. She had an excellent sense of humor. When she wasn't at work, she could be found outside taking photographs in the forest preserve. Her cats were her children; she was devoted to them and loved them greatly. Above all, she enjoyed being with her mom. She loved surprising her with small gifts, spending time with her and doing things to make her mom smile. Brenna's smile, her laugh and her compassion for others will leave a void in the lives of those who loved her. Survived by her mother, whom she loved dearly, Debe; grandfather, James Unbehaun; her cats, Konnor and Kate; and numerous friends. She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Marilyn Hutto, and her cat, Kiki. A Celebration of Brenna's Life will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 16, 2013, at Grace Funeral & Cremation Services, 1340 South Alpine Rd., Rockford. Rev. Dr. Ron C. Meyer will officiate. Visitation from 9 a.m. until the time of the service. Interment in Arlington Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
