EJ ALEXANDER, 85 loving husband, father, granfather and friend MACHESNEY PARK - EJ Alexander, 85, of Machesney Park died Monday, Jan. 27, 2014, at University of Wisconsin Hospital. Born Feb. 11, 1928, in Sulligent, Ala., son of Virgil and Pearl (Stanford) Alexander. Married Dagmar P. Fields. Employed by Lamps/Montgomery Elevator from 1967 until retiring to Arizona in 1992. Returning to the Rockford area in 2005. Member of the Moose Club. He enjoyed the outdoors, including gardening and camping. He loved to dance and loved his pets. Survivors include wife, Dagmar; children, Diane (Jim) Reid, Gary (Cindy) Alexander, Sherry (Tim) Thompson, Judi (Dean) DeMars, Kim (Karl) Fields-Koonmen, Pam (Robert Ethridge) Viederis and Mark (Dawn) Fields; 21 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; brother, Caroll Alexander; several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents; and brothers, Carl and Ralph. Memorial service at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 31, at Delehanty Funeral Home Ltd., 401 River Lane, Loves Park, with visitation from 5:30 p.m. to service time, with his grandson, Jason Alexander, officiating.
