GEORGE A. DZADON, 84 CALEDONIA - George A. Dzadon, 84, of Caledonia passed away Sunday, September 15, 2013, at OSF St. Anthony Hospital. George was born on September 16, 1928, in Chicago, IL, the son of George and Florence Ross Dzadon. George was a Navy Veteran who participated in the atomic bomb testing after World War II. He was a member of the Winnetka Fire Department in Winnetka, IL, and later a Lieutenant with the Oak Park Fire Department in Oak Park, IL. George was a member of American Legion Post in Belvidere and Loyal Order of Moose in Belvidere. George is survived by his wife, Marian; sons, Gary (Marilou), Bill (Debbie) and Jeff (Monica); grandchildren, William, Alana and Jacob. George was preceded in death by his parents; mother of his sons, Lyla; grandson, Andrew; and two sisters. A memorial service to celebrate George's life will be 2 p.m. Friday, September 20, 2013, at Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 N. Alpine Road in Machesney Park, IL. Burial will be at a later date.
