JAMES 'JIMMY' JOSEPH BRODERICK, 67 OREGON - James "Jimmy" Joseph Broderick, 67, of Oregon, passed peacefully on Thursday, July 17, 2014, after a courageous battle with "Agent Orange" lung cancer. Jimmy was a loving, devoted husband, father and grandfather. He loved life and lived it to the fullest. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing, farming and gardening. He will always be remembered for his gift of gab, infectious smile and sense of humor. Jimmy had a big heart and touched many lives. He proudly served in the Vietnam War and was a lifetime member of Oregon VFW Post #8739. Jimmy is survived by his wife, Jan; daughter, Cari Picchioni (Jason Lenz); grandsons, Sebastian and Gunnar Picchioni; brothers, Mickey (Liz) Broderick, David (Dorothy) Broderick and Dennis Broderick; sister, Ellen (David) Hoffman; and many nieces and nephews. Jimmy was predeceased by his brother, Jake Broderick and parents, Michael and Margaret Broderick. A visitation will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. Monday, July 21, in Farrell-Holland-Gale Funeral Home, Oregon. A private family funeral service with full military honors will be held at a later date.
