KATHERINE M. KOSTOPLOS, 94 ROCKFORD - Katherine M. Kostoplos, 94, passed away at 7:59 p.m., Sunday, July 6, 2014, in SwedishAmerican Heart Hospital. Born Aug. 25, 1919, in Taylorville, IL; daughter of Gus and Athanasia (Troupis) Moucoulis. Lived 80 years in Rockford, coming here from Chicago. Graduated from Central High School, Rockford, IL. Married to George P. Kostoplos in Tarpon Springs, FL on July 22, 1945, he predeceased her Oct. 29, 1997. Employed as administrative assistant by University of Illinois School of Medicine, Rockford. Member of Sts. Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church and a former Sunday school teacher. Volunteered at River Bluff Nursing Home for 40 years. She was an avid reader, avid gardener, loved sewing, embroidery and china painting. Survivors include daughters, Leah Kostoplos of Santa Fe, NM and Nancy (George) Brown of Madison, WI; grandsons, Nicholas (Tina) Fouts, Madison, WI and Daniel C. Brown, Madison; great-granddaughter, Aria Athanasia Fouts. Service at 10 a.m., Thursday, July 10, 2014, in Sts. Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church, 108 N. Fifth St., Rockford, IL, with Fr.
