Marilyn Waterstraat Obituary
MARILYN F. WATERSTRAAT, 80 BELVIDERE - Marilyn F. Waterstraat, 80, of Belvidere, died Sunday, January 26, 2014, in OSF St. Anthony Medical Center. She was born on November 30, 1933, in Chicago, Illinois; the daughter of Rudolph and Ella (Miller) Dunklau. Marilyn married her children's father, Thomas Nilsen, but later divorced. She then married Richard Waterstraat on April 4, 1980, at the Church by the side of the road, Rockton, IL. Marilyn worked for International Harvester and Camcar. She was a member of St. John United Church of Christ, the Eagles Club, the VFW and American Legion Women's Auxiliaries and the Moose Club. She is survived by her husband, Richard Waterstraat; son, David (Nancy) Nilsen; 2 daughters, Lorel Nilsen, Lynda (Brian) Ditto; 3 stepchildren, Mary (John) Moore, Sandi (Jim) Deahn, Dave Waterstraat; 2 grandchildren, Erik and Christopher Nilsen; 6 step-great- grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren. Marilyn is preceded in death by parents; sister, Bernadine Hauser; and stepson, Richard Waterstraat. Funeral services 2 p.m. Tuesday, February 4, 2014, in Anderson Funeral and Cremation Services, Buck-Wheeler-Hyland Chapel, 218 W. Hurlbut Av., with the Rev. Muriel Morley Jahn, pastor of St. John United Church of Christ. Burial in Livingston Cemetery. Visitation noon to 1:45 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.
