ORIL E. MORRIS, 98 ROCKFORD - Oril E. Morris, 98, of Rockford went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2013. Born Feb. 6, 1914, in LaSalle County, son of Delbert and Ina (Greathouse) Morris. Veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Coast Guard. Married Mildred F. Payne on Sept. 2, 1950, in Rockford. Employed by Sundstrand for 23 years and later Bob's Hardware for 25 years. Member of Broadway Church of Christ and Independent Order of Foresters. He loved spending time with family and reading the Bible. Survivors include wife, Mildred; son, Wayne (Jan) Morris of Rockford; daughter, Mary Gillis of Rockford; grandchildren, Daniel (Jen) Morris of Bellville, Becky (Adam) Zomok of Rockford, David (Rebecca) Morris of Danville, Christina Fuller and Jennifer Fuller, both of Rockford; great-grandchildren, Nathan, Maddison, Gracie, Hayden, Tyler, Joshua, Isaiah and Hannah; numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by brother, Ralph (Ruth) Morris; and sister, Florence Reagan. Service at 9:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 25, at Delehanty Funeral Home Ltd., 401 River Lane, Loves Park.
