ROSS D. ROLANDER, 79 ROCKFORD - Ross D. Rolander, 79, of Rockford, died Monday, Feb. 10, 2014, in Rosewood Care Center. Born July 3, 1934, in Rockford, the son of J. Bernard and Mildred (Eklund) Rolander. Graduated from East High School in 1952, and the University of Illinois in 1956. At Illinois he earned University Honors - Bronze Tablet. Married the former Diane Dils in 1962, at Dayton, Ohio. Ross served in the U.S. Army from 1957 to 1959. His career included 27 years with Eastman Kodak Company, mostly in Rochester, NY. Later he managed sales training for seven years at Videojet Systems International. He served many years as a Deacon at Emmanuel Covenant Church in Rochester. He is survived by his wife, Diane; sons, Jeffrey (Kate) of Richmond, Va., and Dennis (Sara) of Chantilly, Va.; granddaughter, Allison; brother, Richard; niece, Karen Bieschke; and nephews, Craig (Dawn) and Bob (Lilyan) Rolander. Predeceased by parents; sister-in-law, Mary Rolander; Diane's parents; and several cousins. Special thanks to Rosewood, P.A. Peterson, and Northern Illinois Hospice for the fine care they provided to Ross during his last days. Memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 14, 2014, in Olson Funeral & Cremation Services, Ltd., Fred C. Olson Chapel, 1001 Second Ave., with Rev. Dean Parker officiating.
