WILLIAM R. JOHNSON, 72 ROCKFORD - William R. Johnson, 72, of Rockford died Friday April 20, 2012, in Alden-Alma Nelson Manor, Rockford. Born Aug. 26, 1939, in Chicago, the son of Clarence and Jessie Marsh Johnson. He was raised in Sycamore, received a BS in chemical engineering from University of Illinois and a masters of science degree in chemical engineering from University of Minnesota. Bill was an engineer for several companies in the Minneapolis area. He was a Mason, member of the Scottish Rites, and enjoyed sailing. Survivors include wife, Janice; children, Kathryn Johnson and Charles Johnson of Minneapolis; stepchildren, Lori (Pete) Montana of Cherry Valley and Lisa (Joel) Montoya of Roscoe; seven step-grandchildren; sister, Gloria (Robert) Krunnfusz of Canton; brother, Dr. Robert (Holly) Johnson of Byron; uncles, William Johnson of Arkansas and Richard Johnson of California; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents and nephew, Matthew Johnson. Memorial service at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 12, in St. Mark's Lutheran Church, 675 N. Mulford Rd., Rockford, with the Rev. Donald E.
