Obituary Condolences

1932 - 2014
Jacques (Jack) was born in Hollywood, CA to Charles and Mary Deckwar (Sewell). He moved to Redlands in 1934 following the tragic death of his father. He attended Crafton Elementary School and both Redlands Junior and Senior High Schools. After High School, he joined the United States Navy and fought in the Korean War. He came back home to marry his childhood sweetheart, Darlene Kelly. Together they raised two children, Denise and Jacques (Jack). He worked at Universal Rundle in Mentone before hiring into the Southern California Edison Company where he worked for 30 years before retiring. Jacques loved golfing at the Redlands Country Club where he was a member. He was also a member of the Elks Lodge and enjoyed bowling at the Redlands Bowling Alley. His biggest hobby was the "Honey Do List" for his adoring wife. He loved to dance and he and Darlene enjoyed going out dancing. On July 16th, Jacques and Darlene celebrated 60 years of marriage with family. He wanted to give her that one last gift before passing on July 30th. He is survived by his wife Darlene, his brother Monte, his daughter and son-in-law Denise and Monty Moritz, his son and daughter-in-law Jacques (Jack) and Shannon Deckwar, as well as his two granddaughters, Janai and Chloe Deckwar. A private memorial service is planned for a later date.
