Mr. Clayton A. Gray, 95, died Monday, June 2, 2014. The funeral service will be conducted Thursday at 3:30 p.m. in the Wilkerson Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Pinewood Memorial Park with Military Honors.
Mr. Gray, a native of Martin County, was a lifelong resident of Greenville. A veteran of World War II and the Korean War, he served in the United States Army in the African and European Theatre, receiving the Purple Heart. He retired from Etna Oil Company and later was employed with Trade Oil for 28 years, where he had many enjoyable years. Mr. Gray was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church.
He is survived by his son, Freddy Gray, of Greenville; and grandson, Alex Gray of Orange, Texas.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at Wilkerson Funeral Home.
