Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Buck Buck, 69, passed away on Tuesday, June 24, 2014 after a courageous battle with breast cancer. The funeral service will be conducted on Friday at 2:30 p.m. at Trinity Free Will Baptist Church with Ken Cash and Henry Parker officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.

A native and lifelong resident of Pitt County, Mary was educated in the Pitt County Schools. She worked for Hamilton Beach for a number of years prior to owning and operating Country Fare Store for many years. She was a member of Trinity Free Will Baptist Church and was attending Belvoir Free Will Baptist Church.
Mary will be fondly remembered for her warm smile and her giving and generous nature. She adored her family, especially her grandchildren and greatly enjoyed cooking and loving her extended family. She will be greatly missed by the many who knew and loved her.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Elbert and Elizabeth Whitaker "Lizzie" Buck; and a sister, Barbara Jean "Bob" Winstead.
She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Donald Wayne Buck; daughter, Tammy M. Payne and husband, David, of Winterville; son, Shawn Buck of Lizzie; grandchildren, Garrett Payne of Winterville and Emily Buck of Lizzie; sister, Judy Hutchins and husband, Tim, of Greenville; mother and father in-law, Naomi and Garland Buck of Greenville; sister-in-law, Kay Sugg and husband, Danny of Greenville; and special pet, Lance.
The family will receive friends tonight from 6 – 8 at Wilkerson Funeral Home and other times at the home of Naomi and Garland Buck.
