Dennis "Wolfgarr" Richard Thomason

1939 - 2013

A home funeral service was held for Dennis at his home in Cottage Grove. Dennis passed away peacefully with his family at his side on Saturday, March 9, 2013. He was 73. Survivors include his wife of 18 years, Katrina (Grossman) Thomason, sons; James, Joshua, Eric, and Jeff Thomason as well as his grandchildren Jaina & Bradley. He will also be missed by his sister Marilyn Delzer of Wenatchee, WA.

Dennis earned his PHD in Natural Resource Management from the University of Washington in 1972, with a minor in history. He served in the US Air Force, US Army and retired from the Oregon National Guard. Dennis saw combat in Vietnam serving three tours of duty earning a Silver Star, Bronze Star and three Purple Hearts.

Dennis went on to work for the State of Alaska in Natural Resource management from which he retired in 1989. He taught college geography in Alaska and at Clark Community College in Vancouver, WA.

After retirement He went back to BLM and worked as a summertime park ranger in Clay Creek, Lane County.

He was preceded in death by his sister Sheryl
