Longtime Loveland resident, Dennis P. Goeltl, 64, was called home to live with the Lord on April 25, 2014 after a short battle with cancer. Dennis was born on January 19, 1950 in Greeley, CO to Kenneth P. Goeltl & June D. (Knoll) Goeltl. He graduated from Loveland High School in 1968 & attended college at Western State &
, where he received a BS degree. He was baptized & confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Loveland & was a member in recent years of Zion Lutheran Church in Loveland. Dennis married Darlene Stange on January 18, 1975 & to this union were born three children: Joel D. Goeltl, Heather (Goeltl) Forkner & Patricia (Goeltl) Heimke. Later in life, Dennis married Julie A. Kellaway on March 29, 1997 & to this union was born Taylor Kellaway-Goeltl. Dennis was preceded in death by his Father, Kenneth P. Goeltl, his Step-Father Charles K. Steele, Grandparents Rudolph & Norma Knoll & Frank & Ona Goeltl, Aunt Loretta & Uncle Gary Eckels & Uncle Victor Meyer. He is survived by his Mother, June Steele, Son Joel D. Goeltl & Wife Laura, & Daughters Heather Forkner & Husband Mitch, Patricia Heimke & Husband Mark & Taylor Kellaway-Goeltl, Step-Sisters Jackie Kline & Donna Steele & Grandchildren Alex & Cole Goeltl, Morgan & Madison Forkner & numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews & cousins. Dennis taught part-time at Front Range Community College and Colorado State University & worked part-time in home remodeling. He will always be remembered for his love of horses and the outdoors. Dennis loved playing the guitar, violin and signing. He was the type of man to help anyone anytime when it was needed and was a great handyman. Dennis even helped restore the Rialto in downtown Loveland. He dearly loved his basset hounds and loved and supported the basset hound rescue league. His memorial service will be held on Friday, May 16th 2014, 12:30 P.M. at Zion Lutheran Church. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made out to Pathways Hospice, Zion Lutheran Church or to the Dennis Goeltl Memorial Fund to be used for his daughter Taylor Kellaway-Goeltl's continued education.
