Jimmy Moser Obituary
Jimmy Paul Moser passed away peacefully on Monday, July 21, 2014 at Pathways Hospice at McKee Medical Center. Jim was born April 7, 1935 to Paul C and Bernice (White) Moser in Muncie, Indiana. He was their only child. The family lived in Peru, Indiana when Jim was a small child and moved later to Royal Center, Indiana. Jim grew up in his father's local drug store there and still has many dear friends from that era. Jim graduated from Royal Center High School in 1953 and Purdue University School of Pharmacy in 1957. He realized his father's dream for him by heading the percussion section in the Purdue University All-American Marching Band. Jim married Carolyn McDuffee of Fort Wayne, Indiana in 1957. To that union were born 2 children: Julia Kay (1958) and William Joseph (1961). Jim operated Moser's Pharmacy in Nashville, Indiana for several years prior to moving to Loveland in 1982. He managed pharmacies for Safeway Stores, Inc. for 16 years before his retirement in 1998. In 1985 Jim was married to Caol Petrie Campbell of Loveland and created his extended family to include her sons David Rule Campbell (1962) and Steven Dwight Campbell (1965). Jim enjoyed life long passions for photography, jazz, waterfowl hunting and labrador retrievers. He did sports photography for UPI and Indiana University Athletic Department but his biggest joy came from photographing his childrens and grandchildrens teams and the activities of the parent/child teams of CYO. He developed his skills as a wood carver of decoys in retirement and took great pleasure in contributing his work in support of Outdoor Buddies and CYO. Waterfowl hunting led to his involvement with CYO, its programs and the CYO 'family' he came to love and enjoy. Jim was preceded in death by his daughter Julie who died in 1998 in the crash of SwissAir 111. He is survived by his wife Carol, son Bill (Donna), stepsons David (Diane) and Steven (Dawn) Campbell. Grandchildren are Madison Moser and Dylan, Wesley and Danielle Wilkins; Gannon and Justin Campbell; and Katie and Jake Campbell and Kayla and Rachel Proctor. A celebration of Jim's life will be held at Swift Ponds on Sunday, July 27th at 1 PM. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Outdoor Buddies or CYO in care of Viegut Funeral Home, 1616 N. Lincoln, Loveland CO. 80538
