Karl Greg Love Obituary
Greg Love died at age 65, on Dec. 22 after an eighteen month battle with multiple myeloma. He was born Karl G. Love on April 14, 1948, in Shelby, Ohio, to A. Gene Love and Betty (Weber) Love. He graduated from Shelby High School in 1966. He served in the army from July, 1968 to June, 1971, and was stationed in Vietnam for one year. Greg received his BA and Master's Degree from the University of Northern Colorado. He taught sixth grade Science for many years at Bill Reed Middle School in Loveland. Greg was a staunch Ohio State football fan, an avid fisherman and hunter when younger, and a keen computer gamer. He enjoyed traveling and had an extensive knowledge of military history. Greg loved good food and was a great cook. The secret Love family spaghetti sauce recipe was a hit at family gatherings. Greg is survived by his wife, Chris, son Matt and daughter-in-law Amelia, son Christopher, mother Betty, brother Rick and sister-in-law Pat, brother Gary, aunt Gretchen, cousins Becky and Bonnie. He also loved and was loved by his in-laws Alberta, Deb, Bob and Maria, and many nieces and nephews. He will also be missed by his beloved basset hound, Wilbur. The family wishes to thank the following for the excellent medical care Greg received: the VA, Cancer Center of the Rockies; and the staffs at Medical Center of the Rockies and Poudre Valley Hospital.
