Marvin Christensen Obituary
Marvin W. "Bud" Christensen, 93, of Loveland passed away on January 30, 2013. He was born on January 14, 1920 in Hemingford, NE. to William Bryan and Christina (Hansen) Christensen. Bud served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the European African Theatre and received the Bronze Star. He married Velva L. Daugherty on March 21, 1942 in Nebraska. They lived in Colorado Springs from 1967 to 1982 when they moved to Loveland. Bud worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 30 years. He was a member of the King of Glory Lutheran Church. Bud enjoyed golfing and working outside. He had incredible work ethic. Bud is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Velva; 1 brother; 2 sisters, 1 grandson and 1 great-grandson. He is survived by his daughters Carol (Terry) Cavett of Davenport, IA and Marilyn (Michael) Frye of Spring, TX; brother Donald (Mary) Christensen of Surprise, AZ; 5 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Memorial Services will be held at 1:00pm on Wednesday, February 6, 2013 at King of Glory Lutheran Church in Loveland. Inurnment will take place at a later date at Fort Logan National Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to King of Glory Lutheran Church in care of Allnutt Funeral Service.
