Norman Rarick Obituary
Norman Ellis "Norm" Rarick, 87 of Loveland, passed away Saturday March 23, 2013 at Pathways Hospice Care Center in Loveland, Colorado. Norm was born April 18, 1925 on the family farm in Delaware County, Indiana. He graduated from Central High School, Muncie, Indiana and served in the Army Medical Corps in France in WWII where he was wounded in combat after D-Day. Norm graduated from the University of Denver and married Barbara J. Wilkemeyer who preceded him in death after 42 years of marriage. Norm was a wonderful man, husband, father, friend and servant of the Lord. Norm will be lovingly remembered by his wife JoAnn (Blum) Lewis Rarick, daughter Pamela Sue Rarick, and grandson Gavin Fukumoto, Highlands Ranch, CO, son Jon C. Rarick (Vangie) Greeley, CO and sister Virginia Johnson, Winter Haven, FL. He is also survived by step sons, Steven K. Lewis, Brian J. Lewis, Loveland, CO, Jeffery B. Lewis (Susan), Windsor, CO, and several step-grandchildren & great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 3 brothers and 4 sisters. Norm spent most of his adult life in the banking business in Denver and Loveland having started his banking career in 1949 at Denver National Bank and retired from Home State Bank and American Bank in Loveland. He organized and was first President of the Cherry Creek North Merchants Assn., served in many community organizations, Denver Chamber of Commerce, Board of the Colorado Bankers Assn., Optimist Clubs in South Denver and Loveland, Meals on Wheels, Advisory Board of Good Samaritan Village in Loveland, past President of The Loveland Development Corp. and the Loveland Chamber of Commerce. Norm was a charter member of Park Hill Congregational Church (United Church of Christ) in Denver and attended First Congregational Church (United Church of Christ) in Loveland. Memorial services will be held Thursday, April 4 at 1:00 pm at Kibbey Fishburn Funeral Home, 1102 Lincoln Ave. in Loveland. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Pathways Hospice Care Center in Loveland in care of Kibbey Fishburn Funeral Home. Condolences may be left for the family at www.kibbeyfishburn.com
