Abilene, TX

Doyle was born on September 13, 1930 in Aspermont, Tx. He grew up in Abilene where he graduated from Abilene High School in 1949. He joined the Marines immediately after high school and proudly served his country until he was wounded in Korea. Doyle earned the Purple Heart for his injury and a Bronze Star for saving the life of a General. Doyle married the love of his life, Ruth Edd Thomas of Abilene, on December 28, 1951. They were blessed with four daughters. Doyle and Ruth moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico in 1963, where he worked for 48 years and retired from Continental Airlines. Doyle enjoyed painting and writing. Doyle was proceeded in death by his daughter Linda Marlene Dobbs of Albuquerque, New Mexico in 2008. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Ruth Edd Dobbs; Cindi and Ray Parsons of Albuquerque, New Mexico; Tammy and Dennis Heatherly of Sundown, Texas; and Kelli and Darryl Ruthardt of Hobbs, NM; 12 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild; and one brother, Jim Dobbs of Dover, Delaware. Doyle will be interred on August 22, 2014 at the Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Abilene.
