David Myers, 66, of Boone, Iowa, and formerly of Blacksburg, Va., died from complications of a stroke on September 3, 2013. His body has been cremated. A Memorial Service will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, September 12, 2013, at the Schroeder Memorial Chapel at Sixth and Marshall Streets in Boone, Iowa.

David was born in Boone, Iowa, on July 17, 1947, the son of Donald and Bernadette (Pestotnik) Myers. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving with the Air Force. Dave worked as a computer programmer for the Corning Corporation in Blacksburg, Va., and then for Laboratory Corporation of America in Graham, N.C. Dave returned to Boone in 2011.
David was preceded in death by his father. He is survived by a son, Thomas Myers, of Christiansburg, Va.; a daughter, Susan Myers, of Arlington, Va.; his mother, Bernadette Myers; a brother, Steve (Becky) Myers, all of Boone, Iowa; and his former wife, Faye Myers, and her daughters, Liz Hager and Sally Cooke, all of Blacksburg, Va. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
