ELM CITY - David Lee Burnworth, 69, passed away Wednesday, May 14, 2014. He was born in Indiana July 7, 1944 to the late Harry Rex and Helen Walton Burnworth.

David was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was a retired Army Veteran dedicated to serving his country. He was also a very talented builder.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Janet Smith Burnworth; daughters, Dawn Burnworth, Annette Brown (Mike); grandchildren, Austin and Lauren Brown; brother, Rex Burnworth (Patsy) and a nephew, Eric Burnworth.
A service to celebrate his life will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 16, 2014 at Cornerstone Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Rocky Mount Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1:00 -2:00 p.m. on Friday.
