She taught high school in Milton, Vermont and then worked in an insurance office in Burlington. On April 25, 1953, she married John J. Segale (1922-94) of Rutland, Vermont, and became a homemaker. In the late 1970s, she returned to work, briefly in retail and then as a family liaison with the American Red Cross in Rutland until she retired in 1993.

From the first day Ted Williams put on his uniform, Aileen was an avid Red Sox fan and was able to enjoy their long awaited World Series Championship in 2004.

She is survived by her son, Victor J. Segale, Esq., and his wife, Joyce, of Rutland; her daughter, Cynthia R. Segale and her husband, Anthony J. Hersh, of Bangor, Maine; and her son, John D. Segale, his wife, Julia, and granddaughter Jennifer Victoria, of Quincy, Massachusetts, and many relatives. She was predeceased by her husband, her parents and her only sister, Carmel Henry of Morrisville, Vermont.
