Donald L. Monahan, 69, died Thursday, May 16, 2013, at his home.

He was born Sept. 8, 1943, in Rutland, the son of Alvin and Gladys (Pockette) Monahan Sr.

He served in the U.S. Army, and was a veteran of the Vietnam War.

He married Peg Vail on Aug. 14, 1974.

He was a sales manager for Merriam Graves Corp. for 25 years, retiring in 2005.

He was a member of VASA ATV Club.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, shooting and four-wheeling.

Survivors include three daughters, Tammy L. Monahan and Angela L. Colburn, both of Rutland, and Amy L. Monahan of California; and six grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his wife, Peg Monahan, on March 26, 2012; a daughter, Mia Monahan; two brothers, and a sister.

A graveside service will be held Monday, May 20, at 1 p.m. in East Clarendon Cemetery.
