WALLINGFORD - Earl Patch, 89, died Jan. 26, 2013, at The Pines at Rutland nursing home.

He was born Jan. 14, 1924, in Wallingford, the son of Ruel and Mildred Patch.

He was a Marine Corps veteran of World War II.

Mr. Patch was employed at True Temper, Randall Corp., Vermont Heating, and retired from Rutland Regional Medical Center.

In Wallingford, he was a volunteer fireman, member of the American Legion and Prudential Committee, and active in church events.

He enjoyed playing golf and winters spent in Florida.

Survivors include three children, Cheryl Hadden, Jeffrey Patch, both of Wallingford, and Gregg Patch of Richmond, N.H.; two grandsons, a granddaughter, a great-grandson and three great-granddaughters.

Mr. Patch was predeceased by his wife, Carolyn (Holden), whom he married Nov. 8, 1947; and seven siblings, Floyd, Howard, Edward, Arnold, Barry, Eva Priest and Isabelle Lee.

There are no calling hours.

The memorial service will be held in Scottsville Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
