Marilyn (Denardo) Harrison, 66, of Plainfield, N.H., a former resident of Rutland, died Friday, January 18, 2013, at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center.

She was born in Rutland on May 29, 1946, the daughter of Sidney and Lucy (Colucci) Denardo.

Marilyn was a graduate of Mount St. Joseph Academy, class of 1964, and was a graduate of Columbia University with a degree in nursing. She received a master's degree at Emery University in Georgia.

She was a U.S. Army nurse at various hospitals in the United States. She retired as a Major and continued her nursing career at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center.

She cherished her grandchildren, enjoyed knitting and treated her co-workers as her family.

Surviving are her husband, Douglas Harrison of Plainfield, N.H.; two sons, Major Christopher J. Denardo and his wife Heather stationed in Japan, and Matthew Harrison of Sunderland, Mass.; three brothers, Joseph Denardo and his wife Rosalie, Nicholas Denardo and his wife Mary, and Leonard Denardo of Rutland Town; a sister, Carol Denardo of Rutland Town; three grandchildren, Sydney, Charlotte and Sara; three nieces and one nephew.

She was predeceased by her parents.

Funeral services will be held Friday, January 25, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. at St. Peter's Church in Rutland. Officiating will be Rev. Thomas Houle, pastor.

Arrangements are under the direction of Clifford Funeral Home in Rutland.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Norris Cotton Cancer Center, Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, Hanover, N.H.
