BENNINGTON - Mary E. Snyder, 84, died Friday, Jan. 18, 2013, at her residence following a brief illness.

She was born Sept. 14, 1928, in Broadalbin, N.Y., the daughter of Frank and Eliza (Noonan) Eaton.
She received her education in the Broadalbin schools.
In 1947, she married William Rowe in Hoosick Falls, N.Y. He died Oct. 22, 1964. In 1968 she married Ralph Snyder Jr. in Williamstown, Mass. He died Oct. 7, 1986.
In earlier years she was employed at several local mills, including the EZ Mill, Thomson Manufacturing and Cornish Wire. She later worked at the Union Carbide Corporation, from which she retired in 1991.
She enjoyed crocheting and puzzle books.
Survivors include her children, William Rowe of Atlanta, Ga., Jacquelin Prue of Bennington, Catherine Cutler of Bennington and Keith Rowe of Homestead, Fla.; eight grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; a brother, William Eaton of Midland, Texas; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by a son, Richard Rowe; two sisters, Pauline Palmer and Gladys Stangle; and a brother, Roy Eaton.
The funeral will be held Monday, Jan. 21, 2013, at 1 p.m. at the Mahar and Son Funeral Home, with the Rev. Jerrod Hugenot, pastor of the First Baptist Church in Bennington, officiating.
Burial will be in White Chapel Cemetery.
Friends may call Sunday, Jan. 20, from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Mahar and Son Funeral Home.
