RUPERT - Richard E. Weeks, 66, a resident of Lewis Road, Rupert, Vermont, died Saturday, July 20, 2013, at the Rutland Regional Medical Center with family members at his side.

Dick was born on September 8, 1946, in North Reading, Mass. He was the son of Raymond W. Weeks and Eileen (Fleming) Weeks. The family moved to Vermont when Dick was a young boy.
He was an avid hunter and taught many others how to care for their rifles and how to shoot. Although he had medical problems, he loved being a member of the Rupert Fire Dept. and was able to be helpful in many ways to the other firefighters.
Richard is survived by a sister, Beverly King of Arlington; four brothers, Richard Preston of Charlotte, James Weeks and William Weeks, both of Manchester, and Michael Weeks of Rutland. His extended families: Sharon and Travis Holmberg of Rutland, and Stacey Kenyon of Williston. His other family, that he loved and lived with for many years: Ed, Marie, George, Kelli, J.J., Kelly, Travis, Michael, Tyler and his goddaughter Savannah Lewis, all of Rupert, also many nieces and nephews.
Richard was predeceased by his parents, his companion of many years, Thelma Lorenzo, a sister, Patricia Flower LaRock, and a brother, Raymond W. Weeks Jr.
There will be no calling hours or services, at Richard's request.
