AMENIA, N.Y. - Robert Earl Annis, 73, a 44-year resident of Amenia, previously of Wisconsin, died February 6, 2013, at Sharon Hospital in Sharon, Conn.

Mr. Annis was a self-employed bovine chiropodist for local dairy farms for over 30 years. Mr. Annis also served his country honorably in the United States Navy.

Born June 2, 1939, in Montpelier, Vt., he was the son of the late Evelyn C. (Martin) and William A. Annis. He attended Waterbury schools.

Survivors include his son, William S. Annis of Madison, Wis., and his daughter, Jennifer Annis of LaCrosse, Wis.; three sisters, Louise and Lorraine Annis and Avis Spicer, all of Rutland, Vt., and a brother, Dan Annis of Pensacola, Fla.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Nina Annis, and two brothers, William and Alfred Annis.

Special thanks to Dr. Leonard Astrauskas and the nurses at Sharon Hospital for taking such great care of Bob and to Mr. and Mrs. James Chodan for their friendship and devotion to him.

There will be no calling hours. Burial will take place in Plainfield Cemetery in Vermont in the spring.
