PROCTOR - Roy W. Thompson, 61, of Proctor died July 6, 2014, at his residence following a long illness.
He was born on Aug. 29, 1952, in Cleveland, Ohio, the son of Roy and Ruth (Fenker) Thompson.
Mr. Thompson married Laura Holland on Oct. 5, 1985.
He grew up in Dallas, Texas, relocating to Proctor in 1996.
Mr. Thompson had been employed by Vermont Marble with his father for many years, and by Gawet Marble prior to his retirement due to failing health.
He was a former member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 1122 of Rutland.
Mr. Thompson enjoyed his dog, fishing, assembling models and drawing.
Survivors include his wife of Proctor; two daughters, Alexandra Mallette of West Rutland and Victoria Thompson of Rutland; his father, Roy Thompson Sr. of Phoenix, Ariz.; two brothers, Michael Thompson and Kenneth Thompson, both of Houston, Texas; a sister, Katherine Thompson; two brothers, Marko Thompson and Christopher Thompson; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his mother.
Services will be private.
