Ronald E. Bitonti
80, of Hesperia, Ca passed away unexpectedly on November 20, 2013.
He was born in Star City, WV. After serving in the Air Force during the Korean War, he moved to Fontana, Ca in 1953 with his wife JoAnn, where he resided until 2002. He went to work at Kaiser Steel where he became very active in the United Steelworkers Union (USWA). In the early 1970's he went to work for the USWA and retired as an International Representative in 1991. Additionally, he was the Chairman of Kaiser VEBA which benefits the former employees of Kaiser Steel, board member for Kaiser Ventures, President of the Sons of Italy-Joanne Coccia Lodge, member of the Fontana Breakfast Lions Club, member of the Fontana Masonic Lodge and member of Fontana Community Church.
He is survived by his daughter, Jan Lesnikowski (Louie), his son Richard Bitonti (Kelly), grandson Nicholas Bitonti (Toni), granddaughter Adriana Bitonti, great-grandsons, Giovanni, Ayden & Vincent, sisters Martha Nagy and Philomena Barill, brothers Frank Bitonti (Jean) and Robert Bitonti (Frances), cousins and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife JoAnn Bitonti, brothers Joe Bitonti, John (Tommy) Bitonti, James Bitonti and sister Mary Sanders. He leaves behind more dear friends than we could possibly list.
A celebration of Ron's life will be held on Sunday, December 1st, at 12:00 pm at the Sons of Italy Joanne Coccia Lodge, 9420 Sierra Ave., Fontana, Ca.
