Victor C. Macias
Born March 23, 1921 passed into the glory of our lord on Friday, September 25, 2013 surrounded by his four children. Victor was a beloved father,grandfather, great grandfather and great great grandfather. He was born in Colton, Ca to Luciana and Andres Macias. He is preceded in death by the love of his life,wife of 63 years, Dora (Hernandez) Macias. They were married on September 17, 1942 at the Courthouse in Reno, Nevada. Both have lived in Redlands since childhood. They made their home on Lawton Street in Redlands, Ca.
Victor was a proud WW11 veteran who served his country in the US Army from September 26, 1942 to November 6, 1945. He then worked for Matich Company in Colton until 1950 and went on to work for Universal-Rundle in Mentone for 33 years before retiring in 1983. He was a member of American Legion Post 650 for 56 years.
He enjoyed taking his family on trips to Stockton, Ca to visit with family. He also enjoyed taking his family camping, fishing and many summers went to Jenks Lake and Big Bear Lake. He loved to take his boat to Salton Sea and Lake Perris feeling the wind blowing in his face and watching his children and friends water skiiing. In their retirement years they enjoyed going to their grandchildren's scoccer, baseball and football games
He is survived by his four children Dorothy Sotelo from Montclair, Ca. Victoria (Linda) Macias, Victor A. Macias and Chris Macias all from Redlands, Ca. He also leaves behind eleven grandchildren, twenty-two great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren.
Services will be held at Emmerson-Bartlett Memorial Chapel, 703 Brookside Avenue, Redlands, Ca. Viewing at 10:00am, Services at 11:00 followed by burial at Hillside Cementery, 1540 Alessandro, Redlands, Ca. On Friday, October 4th 2013. You may send your condolences to www.emmersonbartlett.com
