A memorial service will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday, August 18, 2014 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Watkins, Minnesota for Donald Math Kramer who died August 14, 2014 at St. Cloud Hospital. Visitation will be held at Ertl Funeral Home in Watkins, Minnesota, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, on Sunday, August 17, 2014, and one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at St. Anthony Cemetery in Watkins.

Don was born in Watkins, Minnesota to Joseph (Toby) and Caroline (Brutger) Kramer on November 20, 1919. Don enlisted in the United States Army and was sent to Europe during WWII where he served in battle, campaigns and theatres in the Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland, Ardennes, Central Europe, and others. He proudly served his Country and received a Bronze Star medal before being honorably discharged August 1946, as a Sergeant. Don was a member of the Veterans of Foreign War (VFW) and the American Legion for 68 years.

On January 29, 1946, Don was united in marriage to (Marcella) Sally Hennen. Together, they made their home in Watkins, Minnesota until Sally died in May, 1985. Don was owner of Kramer Excavation and Kramer Bus Service. Throughout his life, he demonstrated a belief in a strong work ethic.

Don was an inspiration to many. He had a sense of humor and enjoyed laughing with friends and family. He and Sally enjoyed their evenings of dancing and playing cards and he spent as much time as he could spear fishing in the winter and would bring Sally and his children along to enjoy the quietness of this sport. Don will be greatly missed as a father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, and friend.

Don is survived by his children Carol Marschel of Waite Park, Verne (Dona Lietzau) Kramer of Litchfield, Dennis Kramer of Minneapolis, LouAnn (Thomas) Schuller of St. Joseph, Randy Kramer of Watkins, Dinie (Jean Townley) Kramer of Pryor Lake, Linda (Lynden) Wittman of Willmar, and Judy (Roger) Drewiske of Hudson, Wisconsin; eleven grandchildren, Niki (Cory) Reisdorfer, Shannon (Jason) Caldwell, Andria (Brian) Lenzen, Jaime Kramer, Kadyn and Micah Wittman, Math and Phil Drewiske; step grandchildren; Craig (April) Schuller, Lori Schuller Glen (Stephanie Grover) Schuller; great-grandchildren; brother Marvin Kramer, sisters Delores Saice and Luella Joseph, sisters-in-law Katie Kramer, Mildred Adolph, RoseAnn Hennen, nieces and nephews.

Don was preceded in death by his parents, wife Sally, children Joseph, Duwain, and Mary Kramer, grandson Garrett Wittman, brothers Elmer and LeRoy Kramer, sister Lucille Hochstedler, brothers-in-law Clarence Hockstedler,  Don Saice, Ed Joseph, Ray Hennen, Bill Becker, Donald Adolph, and sister-in-law Katherine Becker.
