Funeral Services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 4, 2013 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, St. Cloud for Kenneth G. Hummel, age 80, who passed away Wednesday at his home. Rev. Dee Pederson will officiate and burial will be at Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery near Little Falls. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Sunday at Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home, Sauk Rapids and one hour prior to the services Monday at the church.
Kenneth G. Hummel was born Oct. 16, 1932 in Lucan, MN to George & Edith (Benson) Hummel. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Ken married Leona Butterfield on July 1, 1955 in Salt Lake City, UT. They lived in Brainerd before moving to Sauk Rapids in 2005. Ken worked at Potlach Paper Co. for 22 years. He was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church. Ken enjoyed fishing, camping, riding motorcycle, and buying cars.
Survivors include his wife, Leona of Sauk Rapids; sons and daughter, Jerry (Becky) Hummel of Merrifield, Sherrie Caruthers of Sauk Rapids, and Bruce Hummel of Sauk Rapids; sister and brothers, Peggy Marshman of Forest Lake, Larry Hummel of Baxter, Stan Hummel of Brainerd, and Bob Hummel of Brainerd; 13 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren.
Ken was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Deloris Beyer and Joyce Doree; and daughter-in-law, Nancy Hummel.
