Rice

Dec. 9, 1914 - Oct. 8, 2013

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, October 12, 2013 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Rice for Lorenzo "Ren" Janski, age 98, who passed away Tuesday at St. Benedict's Senior Community in St. Cloud. Rev. Tom Becker will officiate and burial will be in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services Saturday at the church in Rice. Arrangements have been entrusted to Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home, Sauk Rapids.

Lorenzo "Ren" Janski was born Dec. 9, 1914 in Little Falls to Frank & Mae (McNeal) Janski. He married Florence Pilarski on Oct. 10, 1939. Ren owned and operated Janski's Garage, worked at DeZurik's in Sartell during WW II, and owned a Chevrolet dealership in the 50's and early 60's. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and was a volunteer firefighter for 34 years. Ren enjoyed the Minnesota Twins, Minnesota Vikings, Sunday drives, playing cards, gardening, watching birds, and anything to do with cars especially his wrecker. He was a quiet man who was always happy to lend a helping hand.

Survivors include his children, Delphine "Phinie" Keeney of St. Cloud, Elaine Janski of Rice, Darlene Janski of Sauk Rapids, Marion "Goldie" Gallus of St. Cloud, Rita Janski of Rice and Jim "Crash" Janski of Rice; sisters, Edna Ebnet of Aitkin, Ethel Feia of St. Cloud, and Margie (Carl) Waldoch of New Brighton; five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Florence; son, Raymond; granddaughter, Sherry; and brothers, Harry, Delmar, Alphonse, Maurice, and Norbert; and sisters, Sr. Jeanice Janski O.S.B., Evelyn Pilarski, Irene Kroll, and Effie Zabinski.
