Michael Thomas Nilan, 72

July 23, 1941 - August 11, 2013

Michael was born in St. Paul, MN and died in Mpls, MN. He graduated with honors from St. Cloud Cathedral and St. John's University, pursued graduate studies in Public Administration at the University of Minnesota and the University of Chicago. He was employed by the U.S. Civil Service Commission in St. Louis, San Francisco, and D.C., and worked briefly at the Houston Space Center. He served in the Minnesota Air National Guard and was a 3rd Degree Knight of Columbus. Theater in New York and London, travels to Spain, Europe, and to the home of his paternal grandfather, Michael T., in County Galway, Ireland, as well as humor, and poetry, all delighted him. He is preceded in death by parents Martin Glynn Nilan and Myrna Lehnen Nilan; brothers Marty and Ed; aunts, uncles, cousins, and special cousin, Pat Buckvold. Mike is survived by sisters, Colleen M. Nilan, Mary K. Uldrich, Myrna Nilan Klobuchar; brother-in-law, Rich Klobuchar, sister-in-law Sharon McNamara Nilan; nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Private mass and memorial. "May the road rise up to meet you, and the wind be always at your back."
