Susan Jane Bargabus

1948 - 2014 Obituary Condolences Flowers
Susan Jane Bargabus, 65

Waite Park

August 29, 1948 - March 4, 2014

Susan Bargabus passed away March 4, 2014 at the St. Cloud Hospital at the age of 65 after a brief and heroic battle with pulmonary fibrosis. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Susan was born in Racine, WI August 29, 1948 to Adolph and Kathryn (Murphy) Zaber. As a young child she moved with her parents to Moline, IL and as a teenager to Albert Lea, MN where she graduated from high school. She attended the University of Minnesota and obtained a bachelor's degree in elementary education. While attending the University she met and married Dave Bargabus in August 1969. After teaching for a few years, she left the field to raise their four children, living in Minneapolis and several suburbs. In 2008 she and her husband moved to Waite Park, Minnesota where she worked at Walgreens for a few years before retiring.

Susan is survived by her husband, Dave, and her children: Ben (Carol) and daughter Sophia of Redondo Beach, CA, Rebecca (Scott) Larson of Longmont, CO, Theo (Lydia) and their son Ivo and daughter Ellie of Richfield, MN and Kathryn of Roseville, MN. She is also survived by her brother, Tom (Pat) Zaber of Dubuque, IA, and two sisters, Mary (Ronald) Schuster of Indianapolis, IN and Julie (George) Mosher of Milwaukee, WI as well as many nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents, uncles and aunts.

Services will be held March 8, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Michael's Catholic Church in St. Cloud with private interment at a later date. Visitation will be at the church for the hour preceding the funeral. In lieu of flowers the family would prefer memorials to Heifer International, an organization providing livestock and other self-sufficiency means to people around the world. This is a group that reflects Sue's deep concern for the underprivileged of the world.
