William "Bill" Louis Carlson III

Woodstock, IL

April 10, 1953 - April 17, 2014

William Louis Carlson III, 61, died Thursday, April 17, 2014 at his home in Woodstock, IL.  Visitation will be from 2-3 pm on Tuesday April 22, 2014 with services immediately following at Schneider-Leucht-Merwin & Cooney Funeral Home, Woodstock, IL 60098.

Bill Carlson was born to William Louis Carlson Jr. and Eleanor B. Carlson (Blodget) on April 10, 1953. He was born in and grew up in Bloomington, MN and eventually the family relocated to Sartell, MN.  He was in the first graduating class of Apollo High School, St. Cloud, MN, class of 1971.  Bill attended the University of Minnesota where he studied Mechanical Engineering.  In February of 1978 he married Lynn Krogman (Repulski). Their marriage was blessed with three children.  Bill had a great love for family, friends and animals.  He had many hobbies which included sailing (a tactful man he was), woodworking and home improvement projects.  He was a prominent business owner in the home decorating sector for a large portion of his career while the remainder was spent working in management with Home Depot.

Bill was a very loving man that had great patience, his sense of humor was like no other and he took a very optimistic approach to life's findings.

Bill is survived by his mother Eleanor B. Carlson of Kalispell Montana; children, William Louis Carlson, IV (Andrea) of Sartell, Minnesota, Marshall Carlson (Amanda) of St. Augusta, Minnesota, and Cassandra Carlson of St. Cloud, Minnesota; and four grandchildren; siblings, Christine Carlson of Kalispell, Montana, Constance Nolan of Kalispell, Montana; loved companion, Nancy "Nan" Freeman, and family Derek and Jenny Miller and their children.

He is preceded in death by his father.
