Carl Evan Christensen

68, passed away at his residence in San Francisco on July 12, 2013. He had been living in San Francisco since the early 70's.

Christensen, the son of Halvor N. Christensen and Mayme Matthews Christensen, was born in Cooperstown, New York. He was a graduate of Ann Arbor High School and Michigan State University, where he majored in Fine Art.

His was an artist by vocation, but worked at East West Leather for a number of years before becoming a taxi driver. He was known for his superb sense of direction as well as his matchless humor. He was an avid videographer, hiker and explorer of the bay area.

Death was from natural causes. He is survived by a sister, Karen Gray of Stow MA, a brother Hugh Christensen of Pittsburgh, PA. two nephews, Neil Gray of NYC and James Gray of Framingham, MA, and a grandnephew.

Contributions in his honor should be directed to the Mechanics Industrial Library.
