Beloved husband of Lynne, caring brother of sisters Brenda Hayes, Candy and husband Jerry Baker, Debbie and husband Steve Goldberg and brother Ridge and wife Debbie Haslam. He was a devoted father and grandpa of Greg and wife Sherri, Summer and Mirielle Haslam, Scott and wife Krissy, Macey and Sammy Haslam, Gary and wife Suzanne and Kyle Haslam, and Derrick and wife Elizabeth, Aidan and Penny Haslam.
Jay was born in San Francisco and grew up in Burlingame. He graduated from Burlingame High School, class of 1951. After high school he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and served two years. He then went on to study at the University of Utah with a Bachelor's Degree in 1960.
Jay joined his father Ted's insurance business after graduating and has been an insurance broker ever since. He was an avid golfer and longtime member of California Golf Club. He was a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge Apollo #23. He loved gardening, traveling, good food and most of all being a grandpa.
Friends and family are invited to a Visitation on Thursday, July 18th from 6-8pm and Funeral Service on Friday, July 19th at Noon both at Crosby N. Gray Funeral Home at 2 Park Rd, Burlingame. Interment at Cypress Lawn Memorial Park, Colma, CA.
