Eleanor Lynn Obituary
Eleanor (Hamilton) Lynn

1925-2013

A native San Franciscan, Ellie attended Hillcrest Elementary, Balboa High & SF State College.  She met Homer, her devoted husband of 22 years, after WWII & they moved to South San Francisco.  They happily raised a family until Homer passed away in 1971. She remained in SSF & raised her 3 children.  Aunt Eleanor was like a second mom to numerous nieces & nephews. Survived by son Tom (Lucy Picras), son Jack (Linda Palagi), daughter Joyce (Rob Zink), grandchildren Kenny, Kyle, Nicholas, Jamie, & sister-in-law Roberta Hamilton.  Predeceased by brother, John  & her parents.

As a young bank teller during the war, Eleanor developed a passion for numbers; thus began her long career in the accounting field, working many years at Golden Gate Fields.  Among her interests she loved to hike, walk, dance, read, write stories, attend theatre, play cards, travel, watch sports, study & learn new things; but most of all she treasured being with the people she loved.  A celebration of her life will take place at SSF Elks Lodge on Saturday, January 4 at 12:30 pm.  Memorial donations can be made to the Acoustic Neuroma Assn, American Heart Assn or Peninsula POST.
