Georgia M. Carlson
Georgia Margaret Carlson (born Georgia McClung) of Albany, CA, wife of the late Clifford Carlson, beloved mother of Mary, David, and pre-deceased Patricia, sister to Garrett, Sidney, pre-deceased Glenn and pre-deceased Johnny, step mother to Bruce, Dennis, Margrit, Eric and Berit, and grandmother to nine grandchildren, died peacefully at home on December 1, 2013. She was 83.
Georgia was born on March 28, 1930, in San Jose, CA. She attended local schools in California including John Swett High School and graduated from San Jose State University. Georgia was a substitute teacher and later in life an entrepreneur with her late husband. They owned, Bears and Baubles located on Solano Avenue in Berkeley, CA. They later retired.
Georgia enjoyed swimming at Kennedy Pool and The Plunge in Richmond, CA. She was a member of the Moose Lodge and the Unitarian Universalist Church in Kensington. Georgia was affectionately known as GG (Grandma Georgia) and she was known to carry her bear-purse Baxter, everywhere she went. Georgia's memorial service will be held on March 1, 2014 at the Unitarian Church in Kensington from 1-4pm.
